Cresswell
The biggest defensive liability in the team and it's been that way for about 4 years now. Not very good going forward for a while now either so it's hard to understand how is he the only lb in the whole squad

Re: Cresswell
I have to admit that I was one of those calling for him to be replaced a couple of seasons ago but his upturn in form over the last year or so has been quite remarkable

It could be argued that he's been playing the best football of his career over the past year

He definitely needs a younger understudy to compete for his position

He's still effective but his age is begining to catch up with him as far as pace is concerned. On Sunday, Pogba ran away from him several times as if he wasn't there

I'm not sure how good Masuaka will be following his long term absence, but he's essentially a wing back rather than a LB/L central defender, so can't really be looked on as an alternative in that position except in an emergency

Re: Cresswell
I think he is underrated.

A bit like when Lucas Neil left us. It took a while to replace.

Re: Cresswell
Never claimed I've ever played much above the bottom level.

Although some suprising people end up playing in the internal leagues of Universities - I've played against people who have played League 1 football, people who were let go by Barcelona in their late teens, and some who was in a team that beat Man U in the League Cup, who's long retired from the professional game.

Re: Cresswell
He has been brilliant for a while now, but we should have a good understudy for him, a 22/23 year old who’s bedded in to the team and ready to take over as first choice next season.

Sounds like a proper shit league that geep...

Re: Cresswell
WTF?

I've reffed straight after playing (it was a requirement of a league I played in that each team provided "officials"* for a certain number of games not involving them).

Physically, a walk in the park compared to playing. I hated it for other reasons, but it was my turn.

Are you seriously comparing refereeing to actually playing?

Please tell me you're being sarcastic?

Re: Cresswell
A bit knackered from playing Thursday?! Do me a favour. Martin Atkinson reffed two games in two days and he’s about 15 years older than Cresswell.

It's no coincidence that our 3 most consistent players were all bang average , gph.

Re: Cresswell
Didn't have a great game by his own standards yesterday, but was still far from poor.

As Block says, he was probably a bit knackered from playing on Thursday.

Where do you get your crack from Sajmo Son?

Re: Cresswell
The lack of knowledge is astounding.

I did a Creswelll appreciation thread last season, no one mentioned anything negative about him.

1 average game and people are all over him.

Pathetic.

Cresswell has been excellent for us since Moyes cam back.

Re: Cresswell
Cresswell has been a liability for the past few years. His negativity and slowness to put in a cross has been embarrassing. When he's face to face with someone with a shot on goal he turns his back. He is too easily beaten by anybody going into the corner His free kicks and corners are laughable. We really need a replacement. If Brighton can go out and find a decent player why cant we attract one.

Re: Cresswell
Personally I think Cresseell is a superb player and we are lucky to have him. Never injured, a great attitude, huge work rate and very important to the way we play. Him and Coufal pushing on give us so much of the momentum our game is based upon.

Re: Cresswell
Cresswell has been excellent over the last 18 months. Anyone disagreeing with that has an agenda.

He's played 3 games in 8 days, travelled home from Europe 2 days prior at nearly 32 years of age, and just got the wrong side of the greatest goalscorer the world has ever seen.

Calm the fuck down you wally.

Re: Cresswell
It's only the known idiot Sajmo who thinks this way though, isn't it? I don't see many slagging him off.

Just because a lot of us want a left back brought in to compete with Cresswell, doesn't mean we think crap like he's our biggest defensive liability in the team.

We turn on our own players quicker than any other club.
